About the Position

Reporting to the Director of Music, the Collaborative Keyboardist performs as the lead accompanist for rehearsals and church services and performs as a soloist during introits, preludes and postludes during the service.

Duties include playing both piano and pipe organ for Sunday church services and accompanying the Neighborhood Choir for rehearsals and performance.  Additional collaborative projects may be requested, and other related tasks may be assigned. Additional activities, such as weddings, funerals and memorials are also possible, if interested and available, for separate compensation.



Bachelor's degree in piano performance, collaborative piano, organ performance required; a master’s degree or advanced artist diploma preferred.

Demonstrated experience in choral and general accompanying is required.

Demonstrated deep experience with a variety of musical styles.

Demonstrated strong technical and musical skills as a performer.

Evidence of excellence in music reading skills and ability to play open score. Extemporaneous transposition and embellishment skills highly desirable.

Evidence of successful collaborative work with soloists and chamber musicians.


Additional Information:

This is a part time, Church Year (10-month: late August-mid June) position, 10 hours a week schedule.

Anticipated hire date is August 2018.
